Loneliness

What is the problem we are trying to solve?

Loneliness is a serious problem in residential facilities, common amongst older people. A study of 4966 residents, after excluding on responders, known dementia, still yielded 2072 residents. 9% reported “often/always lonely”, 26% reported “sometimes”, associated with poor self-rated health, disability, mobility problems, higher cognitive function, depression, poor psychological well-being.
